| Abstract |
Yoshikazu Hojoh was preparing to help General Motors (GM) adapt automobiles for the Japanese market. During the mid-1990s, Japan and the United States had reached a trade agreement to open the Japanese market, but according to Japanese officials, American-built cars were often ill-suited for that market.
