Case Title Infosys: Financing an Indian Software Start-Up
Case Author(s) Kuemmerle, Walter Coughlin, William J.
University Harvard Business School
Abstract This case traces how Infosys grew as Indian software start-up and raised funds to finance its operations. Infosys' entrepreneurial success set an example in India, where the general perception was that strong family-based financial backing was pivotal to success. Infosys managed to grow from a handful of entrepreneurs to its phenomenal success in 1999. Still, the Bombay stock exchange-listed Infosys' management remained watchful of its future. Immediate decisions to make included whether to seek a second listing in NASDAQ or NYSE.
