Abstract:

In 2003, Seema Aziz, Managing Trustee of Cooperation for Advancement, Rehabilitation and Education (CARE) was requested by the City District Government, Lahore (CDG) to adopt 140 schools located in Ravi Town. CARE expressed its inability to provide sufficient financial assistance and affirmed that it could only extend its expertise to implement its School Adoption Program. CDG offered to assist CARE in fundraising for project implementation. Seema had to decide whether to try and convince the government to allocate additional funds in the Annual Development Budget for educational institutions or to modify its existing advocacy plans to meet the requirements of the proposal.
